What's up with the secrecy ?

I'm a new member, and it's been a while since I joined a forum, it seems like it's a forgotten platform compared to Facebook, but I think it's worth it (will see).
My reasons are simple, I'm interested in worthwhile conversations with open minded people.
My name is Sarah, and I'm a 25 years old woman living in Casablanca.
I noticed that I'm somehow hesitant when it comes to revealing more informations about myself, and I'm curious to know if it's the same for you guys, and if you think that we should be more open to sharing, or it is justified to keep our identities secret ?
